Queensland’s biggest town and state capital, Brisbane has an attractive, manicured image based around its riverside aesthetic as well as the contrast between its high-rise center and extensive urban greenery.
Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre and Boggo Road Gaol are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Kirra Beach and Museum of Brisbane. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Brisbane: Coolangatta (Saint Augustine's Catholic Church & Coolangatta Beach). There's much more to do: explore the wealth of natural beauty at Burleigh Head National Park, admire the masterpieces at Queensland Art Gallery, walk around South Bank Parklands, and look for all kinds of wild species at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary.

You'll explore and learn at South Australian Museum and National Motor Museum. You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Henley Beach and Glenelg Beach. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Adelaide: Clare (Greg Cooley Wines, Sevenhill Cellars, & more), Martindale Hall Heritage Museum (in Mintaro) and Tanunda (Rockford Winery & Chateau Tanunda).
