Queensland’s biggest town and state capital, Brisbane has an attractive, manicured image based around its riverside aesthetic as well as the contrast between its high-rise center and extensive urban greenery.
Start off your visit on the 2nd (Fri): try out the rides at Channel Seven Wheel of Brisbane and then walk around South Bank Parklands. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 3rd (Sat): have some family-friendly fun at Psychic Readings Twin Featherz, identify plant and animal life at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, and then take some stellar pictures from Mount Coot-tha Lookout.

Jakarta, Indonesia to Brisbane is an approximately 12-hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus and flight; or do a combination of bus and flight. Port Douglas

A holiday in Port Douglas balances an activity-filled getaway with plenty of opportunities to relax, thanks to its proximity to the Great Barrier Reef and bustling beach life.
Kick off your visit on the 7th (Wed): do a tasting at Shannonvale Tropical Fruit Winery, get to know the resident critters at Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas, and then discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour. On the 8th (Thu), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: trot along with a tour on horseback, see exotic creatures in open habitats at a safari tour, and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Four Mile Beach.

You can do a combination of flight and shuttle from Gold Coast to Port Douglas in 6 hours. Other options are to do a combination of train, flight, and shuttle; or drive. Prepare for somewhat warmer weather when traveling from Gold Coast in August: high temperatures in Port Douglas hover around 31°C and lows are around 19°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 8th (Thu) early enough to go by car to Cape Tribulation.

A lush headland that's part of the forested Daintree Region, Cape Tribulation was so named by Lieutenant--later Captain--Cook in 1770, when his ship ran aground in the area.
On the 9th (Fri), learn more about the world around you at Daintree Entomological museum, get curious at Daintree Discovery Centre, then tour the pleasant surroundings at Thornton Beach, and finally stroll through Cape Tribulation Beach. On the 10th (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take some stellar pictures from Walu Wugirriga Lookout, tour the pleasant surroundings at Cow Bay Beach, then relax in the rural setting at Daintree Tea, and finally enjoy the sand and surf at Myall Beach.

A neat, cosmopolitan city of shaded plazas and laid-back neighborhoods, Cairns serves as a popular base for exploration of the surrounding region and the Great Barrier Reef, as well as a center for watersport activities like surfing or waterskiing.
