Discover out-of-the-way places like Seven Mile Beach and Opossum Bay Beach. Do some cultural sightseeing at Museum of Old and New Art and St. David's Cathedral. Traveling from Sydney in January, things will get a bit cooler in Hobart: highs are around 26°C and lows about 14°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 10th (Thu) early enough to go by car to Coles Bay.

Overlooking one of Tasmania's most scenic strips of coastline and serving as the gateway to Freycinet National Park, Coles Bay is home to just 500 permanent residents.
You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Spiky Beach Conservation Area and Friendly Beaches. Do some cultural sightseeing at Cape Tourville Lighthouse and Waubs Bay Gallery. Venture out of the city with trips to Spring Vale Wines (in Cranbrook), Raspins Beach (in Orford) and Melshell Oysters (in Swansea). Spend the 12th (Sat) exploring nature at Freycinet National Park. There's more to do: learn about winemaking at Devil's Corner Cellar Door and stroll through Wineglass Bay Lookout.
