Snaking up the side of a rounded, tree-dotted hill, Hobart sits between Tasmania’s sprawling mountains and the vast estuary of the River Derwent.
Bring the kids along to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary and Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery. Step out of Hobart with an excursion to The Sensory Tasmania in Richmond--about 30 minutes away. On the 31st (Thu), give your taste buds a day to remember with a local gastronomic tour. There's much more to do: take in nature's colorful creations at Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens, take some stellar pictures from Mount Nelson Lookout, take in the pleasant sights at Battery Point Sculpture Trail, and steep yourself in history at Cascades Female Factory Historic Site.

Singapore, Singapore to Hobart is an approximately 13-hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus and flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 2 hours traveling from Singapore to Hobart. Traveling from Singapore in October, expect Hobart to be colder, temps between 20°C and 9°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 2nd (Sat) early enough to drive to Port Arthur.

Family-friendly places like Wineglass Bay Lookout and Dolphin & Whale Watching will thrill your kids. Change things up with a short trip to East Coast Natureworld in Bicheno (about 32 minutes away). Spend the 6th (Wed) exploring nature at Freycinet National Park.
