Take a break from the city and head to Friendly Beaches and Coles Bay Jetty. You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Wineglass Bay and Spiky Beach Conservation Area. Explore Coles Bay's surroundings by going to Orford (Raspins Beach & Darlington Vineyard). Snaking up the side of a rounded, tree-dotted hill, Hobart sits between Tasmania’s sprawling mountains and the vast estuary of the River Derwent.
Get some historical perspective at Cascade Brewery and Cascades Female Factory Historic Site. Step out of the city life by going to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary and Opossum Bay Beach. When in Hobart, make a side trip to see Lawrenny Estate Distillery in Ouse, approximately 1h 25 min away. There's lots more to do: admire the masterpieces at Museum of Old and New Art, browse the different shops at Cat and Fiddle Arcade, kick back and relax at Nutgrove Beach, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Kingston Beach.
