Start off your visit on the 2nd (Thu): stroll through Twilight Bay, take a memorable drive along Great Ocean Drive, examine the collection at Esperance Museum, then look for gifts at Mermaid Leather, and finally don't miss a visit to Esperance Whale Tail.

Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
On the 4th (Sat), get great views at Padre White Lookout, pause for some photo ops at Desert Mounted Corps Memorial, tour the pleasant surroundings at Emu Point, then kick back and relax at Little Beach, and finally see the interesting displays at Western Australian Museum - Albany. On the 5th (Sun), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: enjoy the sand and surf at Middleton Beach, admire all the interesting features of Replica of the Brig Amity, then steep yourself in history at The Albany Convict Gaol & Museum, and finally take in the dramatic natural features at Elephant Rocks.

Getting from Kalgoorlie-Boulder to Albany by flight takes about 5.5 hours. Other options: drive; or do a combination of bus and flight. Expect a daytime high around 22°C in May, and nighttime lows around 10°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 5th (Sun) early enough to drive to Pemberton.
