A relaxed town of tree-shaded streets and scenic coastal stretches, Broome gained renown as a center of the pearling industry in the late 19th century.
Start off your visit on the 30th (Mon): take an in-depth tour of Broome Historical Museum, then explore the striking landscape at Gantheaume Point, then kick back and relax at Cable Beach, and finally stroll the grounds of Japanese Cemetery. Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
On the 2nd (Wed), tour the pleasant surroundings at Greens Pool, examine the collection at National Anzac Centre, and then take in the dramatic natural features at The Gap and Natural Bridge. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: identify plant and animal life at Wildlife Areas, kick back and relax at Little Beach, and then kick back and relax at Nanarup Beach.
