Esperance is a town in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia, on the Southern Ocean coastline approximately 720km east-southeast of the state capital, Perth. Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
Start off your visit on the 4th (Wed): see the interesting displays at National Anzac Centre, then pause for some photo ops at Desert Mounted Corps Memorial, then enjoy the sand and surf at Middleton Beach, and finally explore the striking landscape at The Gap and Natural Bridge. On the next day, take an in-depth tour of Albany's Historic Whaling Station and then kick back and relax at Little Beach.

A low-rise, laid-back town of approximately 4,500 inhabitants, Margaret River serves as an ideal local base to explore the surrounding wine region.
Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Surfers Point and Hamelin Bay. Take a break from the city and head to Lake Cave and Mammoth Cave. Venture out of the city with trips to Augusta (Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse & Jewel Cave).
