On the 12th (Fri), observe the fascinating underwater world at Sea World Theme Park. Here are some ideas for day two: get in on the family fun at Warner Bros. Movie World, then tour the pleasant surroundings at Surfers Paradise Beach, and then get in on the family fun at Infinity Attraction.

You can fly from Sydney to Gold Coast in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight and train; or drive. In July, plan for daily highs up to 24°C, and evening lows to 11°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 13th (Sat) so you can travel to Cairns.

A neat, cosmopolitan city of shaded plazas and laid-back neighborhoods, Cairns serves as a popular base for exploration of the surrounding region and the Great Barrier Reef, as well as a center for watersport activities like surfing or waterskiing.
Kids will enjoy Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas and Horseback Riding Tours. Venture out of the city with trips to Four Mile Beach (in Port Douglas) and Palm Cove Beach (in Palm Cove). Spend the 14th (Sun) among aquatic life with a scuba or snorkeling tour. Next up on the itinerary: get a dose of the wild on a nature and wildlife tour.

Prepare for a bit warmer weather when traveling from Gold Coast in July: high temperatures in Cairns hover around 30°C and lows are around 20°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 16th (Tue) to allow time to travel to Melbourne.
