A relaxed town of tree-shaded streets and scenic coastal stretches, Broome gained renown as a center of the pearling industry in the late 19th century.
You'll get in some beach time at Reddell Beach and Roebuck Bay. Step off the beaten path and head to Fishing Charters & Tours and Broome Bird Observatory. There's lots more to do: don't miss a visit to Buddha Sanctuary, tour the pleasant surroundings at Cable Beach, see the interesting displays at SSJG Heritage Centre, and shop like a local with The Courthouse Collection.

Brisbane to Broome is an approximately 7-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train and bus. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 2 hours traveling from Brisbane to Broome. Traveling from Brisbane in October, things will get somewhat warmer in Broome: highs are around 39°C and lows about 28°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 17th (Wed) to allow enough time to travel to Derby.
