Kick off your visit on the 23rd (Fri): take a leisurely stroll along Rhyll Jetty, look for gifts at Tyde, meet the residents at The Nobbies Centre, head off the coast to Koala Conservation Centre, then learn about all things military at National Vietnam Veterans Museum, and finally go for a walk through Pinnacles Lookout. Set against the stark but scenic coastline of the Bass Strait--the body of water separating Victoria and Tasmania--Torquay is a prime location for surfing and beach life in general.
Venture out of the city with trips to Cape Schanck Boardwalk (in Flinders), Heronswood (in Dromana) and Panorama Garden Estate (in Boneo). There's still lots to do: take a memorable drive along The Great Ocean Road, take some stellar pictures from Point Danger Lookout, take in the views from Lorne Swing Bridge, and admire the sheer force of Erskine Falls.
