Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Greens Pool and National Anzac Centre. Get a sense of the local culture at Blush Retail Gallery and The Church of Saint John the Evangelist. Take a break from Albany with a short trip to South Coast WoodWorks Gallery in Youngs Siding, about 40 minutes away. The adventure continues: stroll through Little Beach, see the interesting displays at Albany's Historic Whaling Station, contemplate the long history of The Albany Convict Gaol & Museum, and visit a coastal fixture at Point King Lighthouse.

When traveling from Esperance in November, plan for somewhat warmer days in Broome, with highs around 39°C, while nights are much warmer with lows around 30°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 11th (Mon) early enough to travel to Darwin.
