Esperance

Esperance ©
Esperance is a town in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia, on the Southern Ocean coastline approximately 720km east-southeast of the state capital, Perth. We've included these beaches for you: Ten Mile Lagoon and Thistle Cove. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Salmon Beach and Great Ocean Drive. There's still lots to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Blue Haven Beach, see the interesting displays at Esperance Museum, contemplate the long history of Esperance Stonehenge, and stroll through West Beach.

Plan my trip to Esperance with suggested itineraries provided by Inspirock.

Sydney to Esperance is an approximately 9.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and car; or drive. The time zone difference moving from Australian Eastern Standard Time (New South Wales) (AEST) to Australian Western Standard Time (AWST) is minus 2 hours. Traveling from Sydney in January, Esperance is a bit cooler at night with lows of 17°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 10th (Thu) to allow time to travel to Cowaramup.

Cowaramup

Cowaramup ©
Cowaramup is a town in the South West of Western Australia, 12 kilometres north of Margaret River in the Shire of Augusta-Margaret River.NameThe name Cowaramup derives its name from Cowaramup Siding, which was located near the townsite, on the now disused Busselton to Augusta railway. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Brookwood Estate and Vasse Felix Winery. Explore hidden gems such as Bunker Bay and Margaret River Venison Farm. Step out of Cowaramup to go to Cape Naturaliste and see Sugarloaf Rock, which is approximately 42 minutes away. There's still lots to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Gnarabup Beach, look for all kinds of wild species at Sunflowers Animal Farm, take in the dramatic natural features at Canal Rocks, and do a tasting at Redgate Wines.

For more things to do, reviews, maps, and more tourist information, go to the Cowaramup trip planner .

You can drive from Esperance to Cowaramup in 8 hours. Another option is to fly. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 13th (Sun) so you can travel to Albany.

Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
Discover out-of-the-way places like Lowlands Beach and Singlefile Wines. Get outdoors at Nanarup Beach and Shelley Beach. Change things up with a short trip to Elephant Rocks in Denmark (about 1 hour away). There's much more to do: tour the pleasant surroundings at Little Beach, enjoy the sand and surf at Emu Point, and pause for some photo ops at Desert Mounted Corps Memorial.

For more things to do, ratings, other places to visit, and tourist information, refer to the Albany route maker .

Traveling by car from Cowaramup to Albany takes 4 hours. In January in Albany, expect temperatures between 29°C during the day and 16°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 16th (Wed) early enough to travel to Kalgoorlie-Boulder.
