Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
Explore hidden gems such as Anvil Beach and Lowlands Beach. Princess Royal Fortress and Western Australian Museum - Albany are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Venture out of the city with trips to Denmark (Lights Beach & Elephant Rocks) and Cosy Corner Beach (in Kronkup). And it doesn't end there: kick back and relax at Nanarup Beach, stroll through Goode Beach, explore the world behind art at Vancouver Arts Centre, and make a trip to Padre White Lookout.

Overlooking one of Tasmania's most scenic strips of coastline and serving as the gateway to Freycinet National Park, Coles Bay is home to just 500 permanent residents.
Get a sense of the local culture at Cape Tourville Lighthouse and Spring Vale Wines. Step off the beaten path and head to Spiky Beach Conservation Area and Honeymoon Bay. Explore Coles Bay's surroundings by going to Spiky Bridge (in Swansea) and Tasmanian Wool Centre. (in Ross). There's much more to do: get up close to creatures of the deep with a dolphin and whale watching tour, walk along Wineglass Bay Lookout, and kick back and relax at Wineglass Bay.
