Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
Escape the urban bustle at Cheynes Beach and Little Beach. Discover out-of-the-way places like Cosy Corner Beach and Goode Beach. Change things up with these side-trips from Albany: Anvil Beach (in Denmark) and Lowlands Beach (in Lowlands). Snaking up the side of a rounded, tree-dotted hill, Hobart sits between Tasmania’s sprawling mountains and the vast estuary of the River Derwent.

Overlooking one of Tasmania's most scenic strips of coastline and serving as the gateway to Freycinet National Park, Coles Bay is home to just 500 permanent residents.
On the 26th (Tue), stroll through Denison Beach, kick back and relax at Spiky Beach Conservation Area, and then trek along Wineglass Bay Lookout. Keep things going the next day: enjoy the sand and surf at Wineglass Bay and then see majestic marine mammals with a dolphin and whale watching tour.
