Byron Bay

Named after Lord Byron's grandfather, Byron Bay is not only famous as the easternmost point of Australia, but even more so as one of the liveliest vacation spots in the country.
Relax by the water at Belongil Beach and Lennox Head Beach. Visiting Cape Byron Walking Track and Dolphin & Whale Watching will get you outdoors. Change things up with these side-trips from Byron Bay: Ballina (Richmond River Lighthouse, Northern Rivers Community Gallery, & more), Lennox Head Boardwalk (in Lennox Head) and Minyon Falls (in Bangalow). There's still lots to do: indulge in some personalized pampering at some of the best spas, relax in the rural setting at The Farm Byron Bay, indulge your thirst for a good beer at Stone & Wood Brewery and Tasting Room, and paddle through the water with a kayaking and canoeing tour.
