Step out of Port Douglas to go to Palm Cove and see Palm Cove Beach, which is approximately 42 minutes away. Spend the 30th (Tue) among aquatic life with a scuba or snorkeling tour. Spend the 1st (Wed) spotting exotic species with a safari tour. Next up on the itinerary: look for all kinds of wild species at Hartley's Crocodile Adventures, look for gifts at With Sugar, don't miss a visit to St Mary’s by The Sea chapel, and stroll through Four Mile Beach.

Named after Lord Byron's grandfather, Byron Bay is not only famous as the easternmost point of Australia, but even more so as one of the liveliest vacation spots in the country.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Byron Bay: Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre (in Murwillumbah) and Watersports Guru (in Kingscliff). On the 6th (Mon), give your taste buds a day to remember with a local gastronomic tour. There's lots more to do: enjoy the sea views from Cape Byron Lighthouse, get up close to creatures of the deep with a dolphin and whale watching tour, explore and take pictures at The Farm Byron Bay, and look for gifts at Byron Bay Cookies Retail Store.
