Queensland’s biggest town and state capital, Brisbane has an attractive, manicured image based around its riverside aesthetic as well as the contrast between its high-rise center and extensive urban greenery.
Kids will enjoy Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary and Warner Bros. Movie World. There's still lots to do: let the kids burn off some steam at South Bank Parklands, get great views at Mount Coot-tha Lookout, contemplate the waterfront views at The Brisbane River, and take in nature's colorful creations at City Botanic Gardens.

Perth to Brisbane is an approximately 8-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and bus; or drive. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 2 hours traveling from Perth to Brisbane. Very much a town with an emphasis on the tropical lifestyle, Airlie Beach offers exotic surroundings with palm trees and charming, sandy beaches.
Start off your visit on the 10th (Wed): discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour. Keep things going the next day: get interesting insight from Tours.

You can do a combination of flight and bus from Brisbane to Airlie Beach in 5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight and ferry; or drive. Expect a bit warmer evenings in Airlie Beach when traveling from Brisbane in July, with lows around 20°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 11th (Thu) early enough to travel to Cairns.

A neat, cosmopolitan city of shaded plazas and laid-back neighborhoods, Cairns serves as a popular base for exploration of the surrounding region and the Great Barrier Reef, as well as a center for watersport activities like surfing or waterskiing.
Kids will appreciate attractions like Scuba & Snorkeling and Muddy's Playground. There's much more to do: hike along Esplanade Boardwalk, kick back and relax at Trinity Beach, enjoy some diversion at Esplanade Lagoon Pool, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at St Monica's Cathedral.

Traveling by combination of ferry and flight from Airlie Beach to Cairns takes 5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and flight; or drive. Traveling from Airlie Beach in July, expect nights in Cairns to be about the same, around 20°C, while days are a bit warmer, around 30°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 14th (Sun) so you can catcht the bus to Cape Tribulation.

A lush headland that's part of the forested Daintree Region, Cape Tribulation was so named by Lieutenant--later Captain--Cook in 1770, when his ship ran aground in the area.
You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like Daintree Rainforest - Cooper Creek Wilderness and Myall Beach. Spend the 17th (Wed) exploring nature at Daintree National Park. There's much more to do: relax in the rural setting at Cape Trib Farm, tour the pleasant surroundings at Cape Tribulation Beach, take in the dramatic scenery at Alexandra Bay Waterfall, and hike along Dubuji Boardwalk.

A holiday in Port Douglas balances an activity-filled getaway with plenty of opportunities to relax, thanks to its proximity to the Great Barrier Reef and bustling beach life.
