Lying in the Tamar Valley and surrounded by forested hills, the grid-patterned city of Launceston boasts shaded avenues, vibrant street life, and a cosmopolitan atmosphere.
On the 14th (Fri), steep yourself in history at Woolmers Estate, learn about winemaking at Bell & Gong, then identify plant and animal life at Cataract Gorge Reserve, and finally take in the views from Alexandra Suspension Bridge. Keep things going the next day: appreciate the views at The Tamar Valley, then take in the exciting artwork at Design Centre Tasmania, then do a tasting at Tamar Ridge Cellar Door, and finally stroll through City Park.

Overlooking one of Tasmania's most scenic strips of coastline and serving as the gateway to Freycinet National Park, Coles Bay is home to just 500 permanent residents.
Go for a jaunt from Coles Bay to Swansea to see Melshell Oysters about 46 minutes away. Spend the 16th (Sun) exploring nature at Freycinet National Park. There's still lots to do: walk along Wineglass Bay Lookout, see majestic marine mammals with a dolphin and whale watching tour, take a leisurely stroll along Coles Bay Jetty, and don't miss a visit to Mt Amos Climb.

Traveling by car from Launceston to Coles Bay takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and car; or do a combination of bus and taxi. Cap off your sightseeing on the 18th (Tue) early enough to travel to Orford.

Orford is a village on the east coast of Tasmania, Australia 73 kilometres north-east of Hobart. Start off your visit on the 19th (Wed): step off the mainland to explore Maria Island National Park, take some stellar pictures from Three Thumbs Lookout, and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Raspins Beach. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 20th (Thu): learn about winemaking at Darlington Vineyard, get your game on at Redbanks, and then experience rural life at Twamley Farm.

Snaking up the side of a rounded, tree-dotted hill, Hobart sits between Tasmania’s sprawling mountains and the vast estuary of the River Derwent.
Step out of Hobart to go to Brighton and see Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, which is approximately 30 minutes away. There's lots more to do: take in nature's colorful creations at Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens, see the interesting displays at Museum of Old and New Art, don't miss a visit to Handmark Galleries, and explore the world behind art at Lady Franklin Gallery.
