Margaret River

A low-rise, laid-back town of approximately 4,500 inhabitants, Margaret River serves as an ideal local base to explore the surrounding wine region.
Kick off your visit on the 30th (Mon): stroll through Cowaramup Bay and then see majestic marine mammals with a dolphin and whale watching tour. Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Greens Pool and Little Beach. Get in touch with nature at Dolphin & Whale Watching and Waychinicup National Park. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Albany: The Denmark Heritage Cider Company (in Scotsdale) and Bluff Knoll (in Stirling Range National Park).

Drive from Margaret River to Albany in 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of bus and flight. In October, plan for daily highs up to 23°C, and evening lows to 10°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 4th (Fri) to allow enough time to travel to Exmouth.

Exmouth

Exmouth is a town on the tip of the North West Cape in Western Australia. Get some cultural insight at Vlamingh Head Lighthouse and Potshot Memorial. Step out of the city life by going to Shark Diving and Ningaloo Reef. Next up on the itinerary: get up close to creatures of the deep with a dolphin and whale watching tour, explore the stunning scenery at Shothole Canyon, kick back and relax at Wobiri Beach, and see the vivid underwater world at Ningaloo Coast World Heritage Area.

Traveling from Albany in October, you will find days in Exmouth are much warmer (39°C), and nights are a bit warmer (19°C).
