A low-rise, laid-back town of approximately 4,500 inhabitants, Margaret River serves as an ideal local base to explore the surrounding wine region.

Albany

Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
Step off the beaten path and head to Dolphin & Whale Watching and Little Beach. You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Middleton Beach and Greens Pool. And it doesn't end there: take a tour of Replica of the Brig Amity, see the interesting displays at National Anzac Centre, explore the striking landscape at The Gap and Natural Bridge, and don't miss a visit to Albany Wind Farm.
