The smallest of Australia’s state capitals, Darwin has nevertheless become an attractive and important urban center, being simultaneously one of the country’s most modernized cities and a gateway to both the Top End region and South East Asia.
Explore hidden gems such as Litchfield National Park and Territory Wildlife Park. Take a break from the city and head to Buley Rockhole and Nature & Wildlife Tours. When in Darwin, make a side trip to see Florence Falls in Litchfield National Park, approximately 1h 20 min away. It doesn't end there: see the interesting displays at Defence of Darwin Experience and cool off at Big Buoy Water Park.

Broome

A relaxed town of tree-shaded streets and scenic coastal stretches, Broome gained renown as a center of the pearling industry in the late 19th century.
Get in touch with nature at Nature & Wildlife Tours and Broome Bird Observatory. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Malcolm Douglas Crocodile Park and Animal Refuge and Gantheaume Point. There's lots more to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Reddell Beach, take an in-depth tour of Broome Historical Museum, see the interesting displays at SSJG Heritage Centre, and look for gifts at Willie Creek Pearls Cable Beach Showroom.

You can fly from Darwin to Broome in 5 hours. Another option is to drive. The time zone difference moving from Australian Central Standard Time (Northern Territory) to Australian Western Standard Time is minus 1 hour. Expect a daytime high around 38°C in February, and nighttime lows around 30°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 9th (Sat) so you can travel to Perth.

Lent iconic status as a result of its famous bridge and opera house, Sydney has a down-to-earth charm that enhances its spectacular setting and functional efficiency.
You'll get in some beach time at Manly Beach and Shelly Beach. Step out of the city life by going to Jenolan Caves and Bondi Beach. Change things up with a short trip to Wentworth Falls in Katoomba (about 1h 35 min away). There's still lots to do: trek along Bondi to Coogee Beach Coastal Walk, wander the streets of Darling Harbour, enjoy the sand and surf at Coogee Beach, and take in nature's colorful creations at Chinese Garden of Friendship.
