Queensland’s biggest town and state capital, Brisbane has an attractive, manicured image based around its riverside aesthetic as well as the contrast between its high-rise center and extensive urban greenery.
You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Surfer's Paradise Beach and Burleigh Heads Beach. Change things up with a short trip to Marina Mirage in Main Beach (about 1h 30 min away). There's still lots to do: identify plant and animal life at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, have fun at South Bank Parklands, enjoy the sand and surf at Burleigh Head National Park, and stroll through Moffat Beach.

Birmingham, UK to Brisbane is an approximately 28-hour flight. You can also do a combination of train and flight; or do a combination of train, bus, and flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 10 hours traveling from Birmingham to Brisbane.
