Ararat is a city in south-west Victoria, Australia, about 198km west of Melbourne, on the Western Highway on the eastern slopes of the Ararat Hills and Cemetery Creek valley between Victoria's Western District and the Wimmera. Kick off your visit on the 13th (Sun): do a tasting at Grampians Estate and then learn about winemaking at Grampians Estate Cellar Door.

You'll find plenty of places to visit near Adelaide: Tanunda (Rockford Winery, Chateau Tanunda, & more), McLaren Vale (Mollydooker Wines, Paxton Wines, & more) and St George's Anglican Church (in Gawler). Dedicate the 17th (Thu) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. Next up on the itinerary: examine the collection at National Motor Museum, stroll through Aldinga Beach, steep yourself in history at Carrick Hill, and enjoy the sand and surf at Horseshoe Bay.
