Broome

A relaxed town of tree-shaded streets and scenic coastal stretches, Broome gained renown as a center of the pearling industry in the late 19th century.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Fishing Charters & Tours and Roebuck Bay. Spend the 17th (Wed) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. There's still lots to do: identify plant and animal life at Malcolm Douglas Crocodile Park and Animal Refuge, examine the collection at SSJG Heritage Centre, soothe aching muscles at some of the top local wellness centers, and take in the dramatic natural features at Gantheaume Point.
