A modern metropolis of glassy skyscrapers, waterside boulevards, and lush residential neighborhoods, Perth sits on the edge of the Swan Coastal Plain.
You'll get in some beach time at Cottesloe Beach and Mullaloo Beach. Museum-lovers will get to explore Fremantle Prison and Gomboc Gallery Sculpture Park. Get out of town with these interesting Perth side-trips: Rockingham (Penguin Island & Rockingham Beach), Caversham Wildlife Park (in Whiteman) and Fremantle (Fremantle Markets & Western Australian Maritime Museum). Dedicate the 14th (Fri) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. The adventure continues: see majestic marine mammals with a dolphin and whale watching tour, take in nature's colorful creations at Kings Park & Botanic Garden, take in the exciting artwork at Adam Monk Photography Gallery, and enjoy the sand and surf at Scarborough Beach.
