Queensland’s biggest town and state capital, Brisbane has an attractive, manicured image based around its riverside aesthetic as well as the contrast between its high-rise center and extensive urban greenery.
Shop till you drop at Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre and Brisbane Arcade. Relax by the water at Surfer's Paradise Beach and Burleigh Heads Beach. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Brisbane: Pelican Feeding (in Labrador) and Harbour Town Outlet Shopping Centre (in Biggera Waters). The smallest of Australia’s state capitals, Darwin has nevertheless become an attractive and important urban center, being simultaneously one of the country’s most modernized cities and a gateway to both the Top End region and South East Asia.
Kick off your visit on the 29th (Mon): get a dose of the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. On the 30th (Tue), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: identify plant and animal life at Crocosaurus Cove, enjoy the sand and surf at Mindil Beach, and then identify plant and animal life at East Point Reserve.
