Snaking up the side of a rounded, tree-dotted hill, Hobart sits between Tasmania’s sprawling mountains and the vast estuary of the River Derwent.
Your cultural itinerary includes sights like North Hobart and Puddleduck Vineyard. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Seven Mile Beach and Hartz Mountains National Park. Explore Hobart's surroundings by going to Campania (Wobbly Boot Vineyard & Domaine A Stoney Vineyard). Spend the 17th (Wed) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. Sydney to Hobart is an approximately 4.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of train, ferry, and bus; or do a combination of bus and ferry. Traveling from Sydney in April, things will get a bit cooler in Hobart: highs are around 21°C and lows about 9°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 20th (Sat) so you can go by car to Eaglehawk Neck.
