Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
You'll discover tucked-away gems like Middleton Beach and Albany's Historic Whaling Station. Relax by the water at Little Beach and Cheynes Beach. Step out of Albany to go to Denmark and see Greens Pool, which is approximately 1 hour away. And it doesn't end there: enjoy the sand and surf at Nanarup Beach, explore the striking landscape at The Gap and Natural Bridge, and see the interesting displays at National Anzac Centre.

We've included these beaches for you: Meelup Beach and Cowaramup Bay. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Hamelin Bay and Jewel Cave. Change things up with these side-trips from Margaret River: Augusta (Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse & Water wheel) and Ngilgi Cave (in Yallingup). Overlooking one of Tasmania's most scenic strips of coastline and serving as the gateway to Freycinet National Park, Coles Bay is home to just 500 permanent residents.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Freycinet National Park and Kings Fine Art Gallery. Get outdoors at Nature & Wildlife Tours and Dolphin & Whale Watching. Change things up with a short trip to East Coast Natureworld in Bicheno (about 30 minutes away).
