Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
Discover out-of-the-way places like Waychinicup National Park and Goode Beach. Take a break from the city and head to Anvil Beach and Lights Beach. Get out of town with these interesting Albany side-trips: Greens Pool (in Denmark), Cosy Corner Beach (in Kronkup) and Lowlands Beach (in Lowlands).
