Esperance is a town in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia, on the Southern Ocean coastline approximately 720km east-southeast of the state capital, Perth. Relax by the water at Hellfire Bay and Salmon Beach. Get outdoors at Thistle Cove and Great Ocean Drive. Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
You'll discover tucked-away gems like Anvil Beach and Nanarup Beach. Visit Lowlands Beach and Ocean Beach for some beach relaxation. Venture out of the city with trips to Denmark (Harewood Estate Winery & Lights Beach), Cheynes Beach (in Waychinicup National Park) and Cosy Corner Beach (in Kronkup).
