Adelaide exists contentedly as a cultured, diverse, and attractive city with a laid-back center, leafy residential districts, and an underlying cosmopolitan atmosphere.
Dedicate the 1st (Fri) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. Spend the 6th (Wed) exploring nature at Finke Gorge National Park. A neat, cosmopolitan city of shaded plazas and laid-back neighborhoods, Cairns serves as a popular base for exploration of the surrounding region and the Great Barrier Reef, as well as a center for watersport activities like surfing or waterskiing.
Get out of town with these interesting Cairns side-trips: Port Douglas (Safaris, Four Mile Beach, & more), Rex Lookout (in Wangetti) and Palm Cove (Spas & Wellness, Hartley's Crocodile Adventures, & more). Spend the 7th (Thu) among aquatic life with a scuba or snorkeling tour. There's still lots to do: trek along Esplanade Boardwalk, kick back and relax at Trinity Beach, take in the waterfront at The Jack Barnes Bicentennial Mangrove Boardwalk, and have fun at Esplanade Lagoon Pool.
