Very much a town with an emphasis on the tropical lifestyle, Airlie Beach offers exotic surroundings with palm trees and charming, sandy beaches.
Spend the 27th (Sat) among aquatic life with a scuba or snorkeling tour. On the 29th (Mon), spend a thrilling day on the water with a speed boat tour. And it doesn't end there: zoom along the surf with a waterskiing or jet-skiing adventure, kick back and relax at Airlie Beach Lagoon, and go for a walk through Bicentennial Walkway.

Take a bus from Townsville to Airlie Beach in 4 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of train and bus.
