Step out of the city life by going to Bondi Beach and Tambourine Bay Reserve and Warraroon Reserve Walk. Do some cultural sightseeing at Sydney Opera House and The Rocks. Located off of the Great Western Highway, Katoomba is the main hub of the City of Blue Mountains.
On the 8th (Sat), tour in harmony with nature at Eco Tours, take a peaceful walk through Coachwood Glen Nature Trail, and then browse for treasures at Katoomba Antique Centre. A neat, cosmopolitan city of shaded plazas and laid-back neighborhoods, Cairns serves as a popular base for exploration of the surrounding region and the Great Barrier Reef, as well as a center for watersport activities like surfing or waterskiing.
Get in touch with nature at Scuba & Snorkeling and Palm Cove Beach. Get some cultural insight at Historic Village Herberton and Bones and Jones. Spend the 14th (Fri) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. A lush headland that's part of the forested Daintree Region, Cape Tribulation was so named by Lieutenant--later Captain--Cook in 1770, when his ship ran aground in the area.
You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Thornton Beach and Cow Bay Beach. Take a break from the city and head to Daintree Rainforest - Cooper Creek Wilderness and Daintree National Park. Change things up with these side-trips from Cape Tribulation: Daintree Discovery Centre (in Cow Bay) and Floravilla Ice Cream Factory (in Daintree).
