A neat, cosmopolitan city of shaded plazas and laid-back neighborhoods, Cairns serves as a popular base for exploration of the surrounding region and the Great Barrier Reef, as well as a center for watersport activities like surfing or waterskiing.
We've included these beaches for you: Palm Cove Beach and Trinity Beach. Visiting Scuba & Snorkeling and Nature & Wildlife Tours will get you outdoors. Go for a jaunt from Cairns to Palm Cove to see Hartley's Crocodile Adventures about 44 minutes away. On the 5th (Sat), admire nature's wide array of creatures at Werribee Open Range Zoo, kick back and relax at St. Kilda Beach, and then look for gifts at St Kilda Sea Baths. Step out of the city life by going to Bendalong Beach and Nelson Beach. Visit Werri Beach and Cave Beach for some beach relaxation.
