The state of Victoria crown jewel, Melbourne boasts shaded streets, leafy residential neighborhoods, vibrant street life, and a picturesque city center.
Visiting Eastern Beach Reserve and Bells Beach will get you outdoors. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Art Gallery of Ballarat and Melbourne Museum. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Melbourne: Lake Daylesford (in Daylesford), The Rip (in Queenscliff) and Point Lonsdale Lighthouse (in Point Lonsdale). Spend the 16th (Wed) exploring nature at Castlemaine Diggings National Heritage Park. Dedicate the 13th (Sun) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. Step off the beaten path and head to Martindale Hall Heritage Museum and Cleland Wildlife Park. Get a sense of the local culture at Sevenhill Cellars and South Australian Museum. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Adelaide: Horseshoe Bay (in Port Elliot), Victor Harbor (Granite Island & Old Port Victor Historic Walk) and Sevenhill (St Aloysius Church & Jeanneret Wines).
