Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Albany: Denmark (Greens Pool & Elephant Rocks). And it doesn't end there: see the interesting displays at National Anzac Centre, get engrossed in the history at Albany's Historic Whaling Station, enjoy the sea views from Point King Lighthouse, and explore the striking landscape at The Gap and Natural Bridge.
