A relaxed town of tree-shaded streets and scenic coastal stretches, Broome gained renown as a center of the pearling industry in the late 19th century.
Broome Historical Museum and Japanese Cemetery are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Visiting Cable Beach and Gantheaume Point will get you outdoors. Spend the 22nd (Sat) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
We've included these beaches for you: Greens Pool and Little Beach. Do some cultural sightseeing at National Anzac Centre and Forest Hill Vineyard. There's lots more to do: see majestic marine mammals with a dolphin and whale watching tour, kick back and relax at Middleton Beach, explore the striking landscape at The Gap and Natural Bridge, and enjoy the sea views from Point King Lighthouse.
