A modern metropolis of glassy skyscrapers, waterside boulevards, and lush residential neighborhoods, Perth sits on the edge of the Swan Coastal Plain.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Caversham Wildlife Park and Cottesloe Beach. Attractions like Mandurah Cruises and Perth Zoo make great kid-friendly stops. Get out of town with these interesting Perth side-trips: Zanthorrea Nursery (in Maida Vale) and Rockingham (Penguin Island & Rockingham Beach).
