Mandurah

Mandurah is a coastal city in Western Australia, situated approximately 72km south of the state capital, Perth. Visiting Rockingham Beach and Dolphin & Whale Watching will get you outdoors. Get some historical perspective at The Fremantle Round House and Mandurah War Memorial. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Mandurah: City Beach (in City Beach), Warnbro Beach (in Warnbro) and St. Mary's Cathedral (in Perth). There's much more to do: zoom along the surf with a waterskiing or jet-skiing adventure, contemplate the long history of Old Blythewood, look for all kinds of wild species at Point Peron, and enjoy the sand and surf at Silver Sands Beach.

Perth to Mandurah is an approximately 1-hour car ride. You can also take a train; or take a bus. Expect a daytime high around 38°C in February, and nighttime lows around 20°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 22nd (Fri) early enough to go by car to Margaret River.

Margaret River

A low-rise, laid-back town of approximately 4,500 inhabitants, Margaret River serves as an ideal local base to explore the surrounding wine region.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Surfers Point and Bunker Bay. Visit Gnarabup Beach and Hamelin Bay for some beach relaxation. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Margaret River: Meelup Beach (in Dunsborough), Yallingup (Canal Rocks & Yallingup Beach) and Hamelin Bay Jetty (in Hamelin Bay). The adventure continues: identify plant and animal life at Sunflowers Animal Farm, admire all the interesting features of Caves Road, stop by Gabriel Chocolate, and do a tasting at Heydon Estate.

Albany

Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Anvil Beach and Lowlands Beach. Take a break from the city and head to Nanarup Beach and Middleton Beach. Explore Albany's surroundings by going to Denmark (Shelley Beach & Lights Beach), Cosy Corner Beach (in Kronkup) and South Coast WoodWorks Gallery (in Youngs Siding). And it doesn't end there: tour the pleasant surroundings at Emu Point, contemplate the long history of Princess Royal Fortress, take some stellar pictures from Sharp Point, and pause for some photo ops at Desert Mounted Corps Memorial.

You can drive from Margaret River to Albany in 4.5 hours. Other options are to take a bus; or do a combination of bus and flight. February in Albany sees daily highs of 29°C and lows of 16°C at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 4th (Mon) so you can go by car to Esperance.

Esperance is a town in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia, on the Southern Ocean coastline approximately 720km east-southeast of the state capital, Perth. Get outdoors at Thistle Cove and Hellfire Bay. We've included these beaches for you: Twilight Bay and Ten Mile Lagoon. There's still lots to do: tour the pleasant surroundings at Lucky Bay, browse the exhibits of Section Glass Gallery, enjoy the sand and surf at West Beach, and sample the tasty concoctions at Lucky Bay Brewing.

You can drive from Albany to Esperance in 5 hours. Alternatively, you can fly; or take a bus. In March, daily temperatures in Esperance can reach 30°C, while at night they dip to 17°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 9th (Sat) early enough to travel to Kalbarri.
