A neat, cosmopolitan city of shaded plazas and laid-back neighborhoods, Cairns serves as a popular base for exploration of the surrounding region and the Great Barrier Reef, as well as a center for watersport activities like surfing or waterskiing.
Spend the 17th (Thu) among aquatic life with a scuba or snorkeling tour. Spend the 19th (Sat) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. Port Douglas

A holiday in Port Douglas balances an activity-filled getaway with plenty of opportunities to relax, thanks to its proximity to the Great Barrier Reef and bustling beach life.
Four Mile Beach has been added to your itinerary. Spend the 22nd (Tue) spotting exotic species with a safari tour. Change things up with a short trip to The Great Ocean Road in Torquay (about 1h 40 min away). When in Katoomba, make a side trip to see Jenolan Caves in Jenolan Caves, approximately 1h 15 min away. And it doesn't end there: admire the sheer force of Wentworth Falls, take in nature's colorful creations at Everglades Historic House and Gardens, don't miss a visit to Echo Point Lookout, and take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Blue Mountains.
