Wollongong, informally referred to as "The Gong", is a seaside city located in the Illawarra region of New South Wales, Australia. Relax by the water at North Wollongong Beach and Werri Beach. Take a break from the city and head to Port Kembla Beach and Mount Keira. Venture out of the city with trips to HARS Aviation Museum (in Albion Park Rail), Mittagong (Marist Wines & Tertini Wines) and Cherry Tree Hill Vineyard (in Sutton Forest). There's still lots to do: make a trip to Wollongong Head Lighthouse, kick back and relax at Austinmer Beach, pause for some serene contemplation at St Francis Xavier's Cathedral, and examine the collection at Berrima District Museum.
