Margaret River

A low-rise, laid-back town of approximately 4,500 inhabitants, Margaret River serves as an ideal local base to explore the surrounding wine region.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Margaret River: Yallingup (Canal Rocks & Ngilgi Cave), Augusta (Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse & Jewel Cave) and Busselton Jetty (in Busselton). Spend the 2nd (Tue) on a tasty journey with a beer tour and tasting. Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Albany: Bluff Knoll (in Stirling Range National Park), Denmark (Elephant Rocks & Greens Pool) and Tree Top Walk (in Walpole). A relaxed town of tree-shaded streets and scenic coastal stretches, Broome gained renown as a center of the pearling industry in the late 19th century.
Spend the 10th (Wed) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. There's lots more to do: stroll through Cable Beach, get engrossed in the history at Broome Historical Museum, take an unforgettable tour with a helicopter tour, and explore the different monuments and memorials at Japanese Cemetery.
