Adelaide exists contentedly as a cultured, diverse, and attractive city with a laid-back center, leafy residential districts, and an underlying cosmopolitan atmosphere.
Visit Adelaide Oval and Holy Trinity Church, Adelaide for their historical value. Relax by the water at Horseshoe Bay and Aldinga Beach. Venture out of the city with trips to Boomer Beach (in Port Elliot), Morgan Beach (in Cape Jervis) and The Cedars (in Hahndorf). Dedicate the 8th (Tue) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. There's still lots to do: learn more about the world around you at South Australian Museum, kick back and relax at West Beach, look for all kinds of wild species at Cleland Wildlife Park, and stroll through Blowhole Beach.

Sydney to Adelaide is an approximately 4.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Sydney in January, Adelaide is a bit cooler at night with lows of 19°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 10th (Thu) early enough to travel to Perth.

Esperance is a town in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia, on the Southern Ocean coastline approximately 720km east-southeast of the state capital, Perth. Start off your visit on the 11th (Fri): contemplate the long history of Esperance Stonehenge, enjoy the sand and surf at Lucky Bay, and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Rossiter Bay. Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
Start off your visit on the 13th (Sun): see the interesting displays at National Anzac Centre, then explore the striking landscape at The Gap and Natural Bridge, and then stroll through Greens Pool. On the 14th (Mon), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take an in-depth tour of Albany's Historic Whaling Station and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Little Beach.

A low-rise, laid-back town of approximately 4,500 inhabitants, Margaret River serves as an ideal local base to explore the surrounding wine region.
