Lent iconic status as a result of its famous bridge and opera house, Sydney has a down-to-earth charm that enhances its spectacular setting and functional efficiency.
Take a break from the city and head to Pulpit Rock Lookout and Coachwood Glen Nature Trail. The Rocks and Darling Harbour are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Explore Sydney's surroundings by going to Featherdale Wildlife Park (in Blacktown) and Wentworth Falls (in Katoomba). Spend the 1st (Fri) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. Cape Byron Lighthouse and Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Get in touch with nature at Burleigh Head National Park and Coolangatta Beach. Get out of town with these interesting Byron Bay side-trips: Tropical Fruit World (in Duranbah) and Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary (in Currumbin). It doesn't end there: enjoy the sand and surf at Burleigh Heads Beach and hike along Cape Byron Walking Track.
