Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
Step off the beaten path and head to Albany's Historic Whaling Station and Greens Pool. Get some cultural insight at Princess Royal Fortress and The Church of Saint John the Evangelist. Venture out of the city with trips to Duke's Vineyard (in Porongurup) and Mount Barker The Old Police Station (in Mount Barker).
