Rottnest Island is an island off the coast of Western Australia, located 18km west of Fremantle. Kick off your visit on the 26th (Tue): enjoy the sea views from Wadjemup Lighthouse. Keep things going the next day: get engrossed in the history at Rottnest Island Museum, then kick back and relax at Parakeet Bay, and then stroll through Salmon Bay.

Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Greens Pool and Little Beach. Escape the urban bustle at Anvil Beach and Shelley Beach. Change things up with these side-trips from Albany: Lowlands Beach (in Lowlands) and Denmark (Singlefile Wines & Lights Beach). There's still lots to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Misery Beach, take in the dramatic natural features at The Gap and Natural Bridge, admire all the interesting features of Replica of the Brig Amity, and stroll through Cable Beach.

Do a combination of ferry, bus, and flight from Rottnest Island to Albany in 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of ferry and car; or do a combination of ferry, train, and bus. In February, Albany is little chillier than Rottnest Island - with highs of 29°C and lows of 16°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 6th (Wed) so you can go by car to Augusta.

Augusta is a town on the south-west coast of Western Australia, where the Blackwood River emerges into Flinders Bay. Visit Yallingup Beach and Smiths Beach for some beach relaxation. Escape the urban bustle at Mammoth Cave and Boranup Karri Forest.
