Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
Start off your visit on the 30th (Mon): steep yourself in history at Princess Royal Fortress, then enjoy the sand and surf at Lights Beach, and then explore the striking landscape at Elephant Rocks. On the next day, stroll through Ellen Cove Boardwalk, kick back and relax at Frenchman Bay, and then enjoy the sand and surf at Goode Beach.
