Located off of the Great Western Highway, Katoomba is the main hub of the City of Blue Mountains.
Venture out of the city with trips to The Blue Mountains Botanic Garden (in Mount Tomah), Anvil Rock Lookout (in Blue Mountains National Park) and Jenolan Caves (in Jenolan Caves). Cairns

A neat, cosmopolitan city of shaded plazas and laid-back neighborhoods, Cairns serves as a popular base for exploration of the surrounding region and the Great Barrier Reef, as well as a center for watersport activities like surfing or waterskiing.
Spend the 31st (Sun) among aquatic life with a scuba or snorkeling tour. Spend the 2nd (Tue) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. There's still lots to do: hike along Esplanade Boardwalk, enjoy some diversion at Esplanade Lagoon Pool, admire the natural beauty at Botanical Gardens, and appreciate the history behind Cairns Cenotaph.
