The smallest of Australia’s state capitals, Darwin has nevertheless become an attractive and important urban center, being simultaneously one of the country’s most modernized cities and a gateway to both the Top End region and South East Asia.
Escape the urban bustle at Nature & Wildlife Tours and Mindil Beach. Get some historical perspective at Christ Church Cathedral Darwin and St Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Cathedral. When in Darwin, make a side trip to see Litchfield National Park in Batchelor, approximately 1h 45 min away. There's still lots to do: get engrossed in the history at RFDS Darwin Tourist Facility, see the interesting displays at Defence of Darwin Experience, look for all kinds of wild species at Crocosaurus Cove, and learn about all things military at Darwin Aviation Museum.
